Vectored Art |
Raster Art refers to electronic image files with extensions such as bmp, jpg, tif, png and so on. They are usually edited in programs including Microsoft Paint, Adobe Photoshop, PhotoPaint and others. The image is made up of tiny squares called pixels. The images can be difficult to edit colors and can lose clarity when resized.
Vector Art refers to electronic image files with extensions such as ai, cdr, eps and so on. They are usually edited in programs including Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw and others. This type of artwork is sometime referred to as “wire frame” because it is made up of shapes filled with color.
Vector art may have less shading and detail than raster art, but its unique clarity makes it the best choice for many processes including digitizing, vinyl cutting, sign work and other applications. It is easily resized and the colors can be changed instantly. There are many advantages to having your logo and other important artwork available in a vector format.
